LAS VEGAS — Therapedic International says it’s time for retailers and consumers to calm down. And the Top 10 bedding producer is offering a new CBD-infused mattress line to help them do just that.

Princeton, N.J.-based Therapedic says the new line, debuting at the Las Vegas Market later this month, will help usher in what the company believes will be the next big feature in bedding: Calming.

The three-number line with a CBD-infused cover and CBD-infused foam is named b-Calm.

“It’s exciting to launch a new line, but it’s especially exciting to bring a new concept to the marketplace,” said Gerry Borreggine, Therapedic’s CEO and president.

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a natural derivative of the cannabis plant that has been clinically proven to impart a feeling of relaxation and calmness. It is the non-psychoactive portion of cannabis, unlike its potent counterpart, THC, which is the psychoactive ingredient in the plant. By law, CBD and hemp products may contain no more than 0.3% THC, officials said.

“It takes good materials to make good products,” Borreggine said. “Using a quality source for the CBD oil infused in the materials was important to Therapedic, so it is being supplied by a boutique hemp farm that employs the finest ingredients. We’ve packaged the best of what is available and put it into b-Calm.”

The product line was designed by Therapedic’s Florida licensee, with Adam Weinman working as the chief product architect. “Adam has a great eye for mattress cosmetics and a terrific sense of what makes a mattress sell at retail,” said Borreggine.

B-Calm retails are set to start at $999 in queen. The line consists of one all-foam model and two hybrids.  The distinguishing features in all three models will be Innergetic CBD-infused graphite latex and the CBD-infused cover.

The line will be available to retailers either flat-packed, or roll-packed. “That will be a factory-select decision,” said Borreggine.

To add to the experience in the showroom, Therapedic will be giving away sample CBD relaxation balms manufactured by Seed2System in Colorado. The farm is owned in part by the Mutter family of Doerr Furniture in Louisiana.

“Seed2System is a production and distribution company of the highest quality hemp CBD products on the market,” said Shane Mutter, one of the principals at Seed2System. “Since we are a small producer, we are able to manage the process from the seeds we select, to the oils we extract and then use in the balms and tinctures we manufacture.”

Therapedic is also unveiling an update on its most successful collection, Bravura. New Bravura models will feature copper performance foam and copper memory foam. The collateral materials will remain musically themed, with the tag line evolving to “the rhythm of life,” featuring lifestyle images on the POP materials. The new models will retail from $599 to $2,499 in queen.

Also being updated, 16-years after its initial debut, is the MemoryTouch Hybrid collection. That line will feature copper gel memory foams matched with the edge-to-edge Quantum pocketed coil unit. Suggested retails range from $799 to $1,299.

Rounding out the new offerings is an extension to the TheraLuxe HD collection. TheraLuxe HD, initially presented at last winter’s Las Vegas Market, is a heavy-duty performance line of mattresses made with HD foams and enhanced coil units and foundations. The new collection, TheraLuxe HD Ice, adds both copper and cooling to its benefit list. The suggested retails will be $2,699 and $2,999 on the new Ice models.
