Open Bank Project powers Fintech APIs for 86 400, Challenger to the Big 4 in Australia


Open Bank Project is to support soon-to-be-launched 86 400 with its Open Banking initiative and Fintech engagement

SYDNEY, Oct. 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via NetworkWire – Open Bank Project, the leading open source API solution for banks, today announces an agreement with 86 400, challenger to the big 4 banks in Australia to power  APIs.

86 400 is led by Robert Bell (former ANZ Japan CEO),  Anthony Thomson (co-founder and former chairman of Atom Bank and Metro Bank), and Brian Parker (ex-Cuscal Payments CIO). The company is fully funded and backed by Cuscal, Australia’s largest independent provider of end-to-end payments solutions.

86 400 will use Open Bank Project API definitions to standardise and harmonise its API design, enabling access to a global network of over 10,000 fintech developers.
