American Express And Credit Suisse Execs Join Blockchain Firm BlockFi

This article is more than 3 years old.

BlockFi, a crypto lender and financial services company, announced that it had hired Wittney Rachlin as Chief Growth Officer and David Olsson as Global Managing Director of European and Asian markets to drive the Company’s institutional growth.

BlockFi has been very aggressive in its expansion efforts lately. This April, Three Arrow Capital became a strategic investor in the crypto lender’s business. While BlockFi did not comment on the size of the investment, the partnership hopes to reach additional Asian-based financial institutional clients. The Company has been busy adding other traditional currency services, like cash wires and other types of interest-bearing accounts.

As Chief Growth Officer for BlockFi, Ms. Rachlin brings innovation experience from a major credit service company. She accelerated revenue by 20% for American Express Business Card products and led a variety of customer growth initiatives.

As Global Managing Director, Mr. Olsson will lead BlockFi’s institutional services overseeing business development, risk management and sales strategy across European and Asian markets. At Credit Suisse, he ran a private banking team focused on Ultra-High Net-Worth clients.

“The crypto financial services space is maturing, and we can see a clear turning point today where traditional finance is being outpaced by digital,” said Zac Prince, CEO, and Co-Founder, BlockFi. “Savvy veterans of the old guard will continue to look to alternative technologies and digital currencies to build what the next frontier of finance will look like – and we are excited to grow our world-class team to lead this charge.”
