The World Crypto Con Bitcoin Bet Heard Round the Crypto-Verse; Vinny Lingham Bets Ronnie Moas $20K USD That Bitcoin Won’t Hit $28K USD by End of 2019

On the Final Day of World Crypto Con, Travis Wright and Joel Comm of the BAD Crypto Podcast Presided Live on Stage Over a Surprise Bet Between Vinny Lingham, co-founder and CEO of Civic.com, and Ronnie Moas, founder and director of Standpoint Research, to See Who Can Predict the Peak Price of Bitcoin in 2019

Loser Donates $20k to FreeRoss.org, a Group of Family, Friends and Supporters Seeking to Provide Legal Assistance to Ross Ulbricht, for His Role in Silk Road

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 06, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via CryptoCurrencyWire -- On the final day at World Crypto Con, the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry’s most immersive and interactive conference experience, Vinny Lingham, co-founder and CEO of Civic.com, threw down the gauntlet at Ronnie Moas, founder and director of Standpoint Research, that the price of Bitcoin won’t hit $28,000 USD on a “reputable exchange” by the end of 2019. Ronnie jumped at the opportunity to back his bullish outlook on Bitcoin.

The loser of the bet has to donate $20,000 USD to the charity FreeRoss.org, a group of family, friends, and supporters working to provide legal assistance to Ross Ulbricht, in the hope of mitigating his life sentence for his role in the anonymous marketplace, Silk Road.

Attendees came in droves to the first-ever World Crypto Con to explore, engage in and experience the future of blockchain and cryptocurrency. However, when industry thought leaders Vinny Lingham and Ronnie Moas took the stage with Maxine Ryan, ‎co-founder and COO of ‎Bitspark Limited; Charlie Lee, creator of Litecoin, to participate in the Bad Crypto Podcast LIVE stage show, hosted by Travis Wright and Joel Comm, the passions and varying perceptions of crypto market forces quickly became (playfully) contentious. You can listen to the podcast here, view the video here.

“World Crypto Con truly lived up to its billing as a show of ‘what’s to come’ in crypto and blockchain when Ronnie and Vinny took the stage,” said Adam Williams, co-founder of World Crypto Con. “We said it would be an experience-driven event, and that’s exactly what it became when our panelist put their money on the line to predict the peak of Bitcoin in 2019. We aim to have fun and make connections that ultimately lead to getting stuff done, and in this case, that’s going to be $20k to FreeRoss.org -- we all feel really great about that!”

“When World Crypto Con reached out to get us involved with the event, they told us it wasn’t ‘just another crypto and blockchain community gathering,’” said Joel Comm, Co-host of the Bad Crypto Podcast. “They weren’t wrong! The event is a place where thought leaders actually put their money in their mouths, or rather where their mouth is. It’s going to be extra-fun keeping track of the price of Bitcoin over the next year, to see if Vinny or Ronnie has to pay up! No matter how it sorts out, we’re all just excited that ultimately it benefits FreeRoss.org.”
